Srikanth Box Office Report: Rajkummar Rao’s Biopic Holds Strong Despite Monday Slump

On its fourth day in theaters, Srikanth recorded an India nett collection of Rs 1.75 crore, marking a 66.67 per cent decrease from Sunday’s figure of Rs 5.25 crore. Nevertheless, it surpassed the Monday collections of several highly anticipated films, including Merry Christmas, Operation Valentine, Laapataa Ladies, Do Aur Do Pyaar, and Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2.

The total India nett collection for Srikanth currently stands at an impressive Rs 13.45 crore, affirming its steady performance at the box office. Despite the Monday slump, the film maintains a strong presence in cinemas, showcasing an overall occupancy rate of 11.57 per cent in the Hindi market. The morning shows began with a 7.26 per cent occupancy, gradually rising to 14.46 per cent at night, reflecting sustained viewer interest throughout the day.

Based on the remarkable life of Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries, the film has garnered praise for its poignant storytelling and stellar performances. Rajkummar Rao’s portrayal has particularly been lauded, with critics noting his ability to fully inhabit his character and shed all vanity in the process.

Srikanth marks Tushar Hiranandani’s third directorial venture, following the critically acclaimed Saand Ki Aankh (2019) and the gripping financial thriller series Scam 2003 (2023). With its inspirational narrative and compelling performances, the film continues to resonate with audiences across India.

In comparison to other recent releases, Srikanth has emerged as a standout performer at the box office. Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi’s film Do Aur Do Pyaar collected Rs 4.2 crore domestically, while Vikrant Massey’s blockbuster 12th Fail fell short with Rs 1.10 crore on its opening day.

Srikanth’s success underscores the audience’s appetite for meaningful cinema and reaffirms Rajkummar Rao’s position as one of Bollywood’s most versatile actors. As the film continues its theatrical run, it is poised to leave a lasting impact on viewers, inspiring and captivating audiences with its tale of resilience and triumph.
